Царство Небесное подобно человеку царю, который сделал брачный пир для сына своего
и послал рабов своих звать званых на брачный пир; и не хотели придти.
Опять послал других рабов, сказав: скажите званым: вот, я приготовил обед мой, тельцы мои и что откормлено, заколото, и все готово; приходите на брачный пир.
Но они, пренебрегши то, пошли, кто на поле свое, а кто на торговлю свою;
прочие же, схватив рабов его, оскорбили и убили их.
Услышав о сем, царь разгневался, и, послав войска свои, истребил убийц оных и сжег город их.
Тогда говорит он рабам своим: брачный пир готов, а званые не были достойны;
итак пойдите на распутия и всех, кого найдете, зовите на брачный пир.
И рабы те, выйдя на дороги, собрали всех, кого только нашли, и злых и добрых; и брачный пир наполнился возлежащими.
Царь, войдя посмотреть возлежащих, увидел там человека, одетого не в брачную одежду,
и говорит ему: друг! как ты вошел сюда не в брачной одежде? Он же молчал.
Тогда сказал царь слугам: связав ему руки и ноги, возьмите его и бросьте во тьму внешнюю; там будет плач и скрежет зубов;
ибо много званых, а мало избранных.
Тогда фарисеи пошли и совещались, как бы уловить Его в словах.
И посылают к Нему учеников своих с иродианами, говоря: Учитель! мы знаем, что Ты справедлив, и истинно пути Божию учишь, и не заботишься об угождении кому-либо, ибо не смотришь ни на какое лице;
итак скажи нам: как Тебе кажется? позволительно ли давать подать кесарю, или нет?
Но Иисус, видя лукавство их, сказал: что искушаете Меня, лицемеры?
покажите Мне монету, которою платится подать. Они принесли Ему динарий.
И говорит им: чье это изображение и надпись?
Говорят Ему: кесаревы. Тогда говорит им: итак отдавайте кесарево кесарю, а Божие Богу.
Услышав это, они удивились и, оставив Его, ушли.
В тот день приступили к Нему саддукеи, которые говорят, что нет воскресения, и спросили Его:
Учитель! Моисей сказал: если кто умрет, не имея детей, то брат его пусть возьмет за себя жену его и восстановит семя брату своему;
было у нас семь братьев; первый, женившись, умер и, не имея детей, оставил жену свою брату своему;
подобно и второй, и третий, даже до седьмого;
после же всех умерла и жена;
итак, в воскресении, которого из семи будет она женою? ибо все имели ее.
Иисус сказал им в ответ: заблуждаетесь, не зная Писаний, ни силы Божией,
ибо в воскресении ни женятся, ни выходят замуж, но пребывают, как Ангелы Божии на небесах.
А о воскресении мертвых не читали ли вы реченного вам Богом:
Я Бог Авраама, и Бог Исаака, и Бог Иакова? Бог не есть Бог мертвых, но живых.
И, слыша, народ дивился учению Его.
А фарисеи, услышав, что Он привел саддукеев в молчание, собрались вместе.
И один из них, законник, искушая Его, спросил, говоря:
Учитель! какая наибольшая заповедь в законе?
Иисус сказал ему: возлюби Господа Бога твоего всем сердцем твоим и всею душею твоею и всем разумением твоим:
сия есть первая и наибольшая заповедь;
вторая же подобная ей: возлюби ближнего твоего, как самого себя;
на сих двух заповедях утверждается весь закон и пророки.
Когда же собрались фарисеи, Иисус спросил их:
что вы думаете о Христе? чей Он сын? Говорят Ему: Давидов.
Говорит им: как же Давид, по вдохновению, называет Его Господом, когда говорит:
сказал Господь Господу моему: седи одесную Меня, доколе положу врагов Твоих в подножие ног Твоих?
Итак, если Давид называет Его Господом, как же Он сын ему?
И никто не мог отвечать Ему ни слова; и с того дня никто уже не смел спрашивать Его.
Jesus continued to tell them in parables and said:
The kingdom of heaven is like the king man who made a marriage feast for his son
And he sent his servants to call them that were called to the marriage feast. and did not want to come.
Again he sent other slaves, saying: Say to those who were invited: behold, I prepared my dinner, my calves and what was fed, slaughtered, and everything was ready; come to the wedding feast.
But they, neglecting this, went away, who are in their field, and who are in their trade;
the rest, seizing his servants, offended and killed them.
Having heard about this, the king was angry, and, having sent his troops, he exterminated these murderers and burned their city.
Then he says to his servants: The wedding feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy;
So go to the dissolution and all those who find, call on the marriage feast.
And those slaves, going out into the roads, gathered all they had found, both evil and good; and the marriage feast was filled with reclining ones.
The king, going in to see those who were lying down, saw there a man dressed not in wedding clothes,
and says to him: friend! how did you enter here not in wedding clothes? He was silent.
Then the king said to the servants: Having tied his hands and feet, take him and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth;
For many are called, but few are chosen.
Then the Pharisees went and conferred, as if to catch Him in words.
And they send to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying: Teacher! we know that you are just and truly teach the way of God, and do not care about pleasing anyone, for you do not look at any face;
so tell us: what do you think? Is it permissible to give to Caesar, or not?
But Jesus, seeing their wickedness, said: Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
Show me the coin that is paid to file. They brought him a denarius.
And he says to them: Whose is this image and inscription?
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then he said to them: So give to Caesar’s Caesar, and God's things to God.
Hearing this, they were surprised and, leaving him, left.
That day the Sadducees came to Him, who said that there was no resurrection, and asked Him:
Teacher! Moses said: if anyone dies without children, let his brother take his wife for himself and restore the seed to his brother;
we had seven brothers; the first, having married, died and, not having children, left his wife to his brother;
like the second and the third, even to the seventh;
after all, the wife also died;
Now, in the resurrection, of which seven will she be a wife? for all had her.
Jesus answered and said to them, You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God,
for in the resurrection they neither marry, nor marry, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
And about the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God:
Am I the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
And when the people heard, he marveled at his doctrine.
But the Pharisees, hearing that He had led the Sadducees into silence, came together.
And one of them, the lawyer, tempting him, asked, saying:
Teacher! what is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and all thy mind.
This is the first and greatest commandment;
the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself;
On these two commandments, all the law and the prophets are established.
When the Pharisees gathered, Jesus asked them:
What do you think of Christ? whose son is he? They say to him: David.
He says to them, Why does David, by inspiration, call him Lord when he says:
The Lord said to my Lord: Sit on my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool?
So if David calls him Lord, how is he his son?
And no one could answer him a word; and from that day no one dared ask Him.
