Композитор и мультиинструменталист, Крис Сфирис (Chris Spheeris), начал писать песни для гитары еще подростком. The composer and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Spheeris, began writing songs for guitar as a teenager. Sphiris was inspired by the spiritual and folk music of his native Greece and other countries, as well as classics and pop music. He fused all these components into his own and unique musical style. Elements of folk music were particularly noticeable in his works at the very beginning of his career, when he worked in concert with guitarist / composer Paul Voudouris, in the 70s and early 80s.
After the band broke up, Sphiris began creating more complicated compositions for keyboards. To his musical preferences is added a passion for electronic music. Echoes of ambient music begin to appear in his melodies. It was in this genre that he recorded several of his demonstration films.
One of these films came into the field of view of Columbia Records, with which in 1985 he signed a contract for the publication of his albums. Under this label came the debut albums of Sfiris - "Desires Of The Heart" and "Pathways To Surrender", after which Sfiris left them to found his own label, Essence, under which he published most of his solo albums and several recorded after reunion with Paul Vaudouris - "Enchantment" and "Nothing But The Truth"
Along with the release of musical albums, Sfiris actively participated in the design of documentaries for television. In early 2000, Sfiris began collaborating with Higher Octave Records, and released the first album under this label - "Dancing With The Muse".
