Вокалист Кенни Шилдс начал музыкальную карьеру в 60-х годах, возглавив команду "Witness Incorporated". В 1981 году "Atlantic Records" выкинула в продажу сборник "Best Of Streetheart", а группа тем временем сменила гитариста на Джеффа Нила. С его помощью "Streetheart" выпустили одноименный альбом, ставший их самым большим коммерческим достижением. Vocalist Kenny Shields began his musical career in the 60s, leading the Witness Incorporated team. This group toured extensively throughout Canada, performed with Cream and Roy Orbison and released several singles. The team was on the rise when Shields got into a car accident and dropped out of the game for several years. Ken fully recovered by the mid-70s, but recovering, he immediately returned to his beloved business. After several false starts, he revived Wintess Inc with Ken Spider Sinnawe, Daryl Gatheil and Craig Kalil. The team had already begun touring, as Paul Dean and Matt Frenett appeared on the Shields path. Acquaintance with these musicians led to the closure of the previous project and the creation in its place of a new one called "Streetheart".

“Street hearts” spent a couple of years on concerts and audience gaining, and in 1978 made their debut with the album “Meanwhile Back In Paris”. The album, released on "Atlantic Records", caused quite good responses, but the band made their first major breakthrough with the single "Under My Thumb".

This song, borrowed from the Rolling Stones repertoire, entered the national Top 5, and the minion received gold status. Meanwhile, Dean left to organize "Loverboy", and John Hannah was already on the guitarists on the second Streetheart album. "Under Heaven Over Hell" became platinum in Canada thanks to such hits as "Hollywood", "Here Comes The Night" and the same "Under My Thumb". However, fluctuations continued in the composition, and Frenetta was soon replaced by Herb Ego, who fled to Loverboy. The Quicksand Shoes disc, recorded by the updated line-up, contained good material, but due to the lack of bright hits, the work got only to the golden mark.

Of course, the musicians were not pleased with the decline in sales and, having moved under the roof of "Capitol Records", they started producing the next album on their own. As a result, such solid things as "Tin Soldier", "Trouble", "Teenage Rage" appeared, and the longplay itself brought the team third platinum.

In 1981, Atlantic Records dropped out Best Of Streetheart, while the band replaced guitarists with Jeff Neal. With his help, Streetheart released their self-titled album, which became their biggest commercial achievement. The work contained a whole bunch of hits ("Miss Plaza Suite", "What Kind Of Love Is This", "Snow White", "Look In Your Eyes", "One More Time"), and its circulation twice crossed the platinum mark. Unfortunately, it was not possible to consolidate the success, and the 1983 studio "Dancing With Danger" was a failure. Attempts to conquer the American market also failed, and after the release of the double live album "Live After Dark", the group broke up.

In honor of this event, Capitol Records released Buried Treasure, a collection of out-of-band and anrelises, and five years later, the company concocted another compilation, Over 60 Minutes With ... Streetheart. In 2003, Streetheart was introduced into the Western Canadian Hall of Fame, and after this event, Shields, Guthale and Neal, with the participation of new musicians, revived the project.
