- As For The Fools
It was almost midnight. Everything was quiet, the earth was asleep. The waters of the lake rippled and sparkled in the moonlight.
"I wish," said Wilfried, softly gritting his teeth, "I wish that instead of this peaceful scene we could see here properly and with our own eyes the kingdoms of the earth in all their glory. But let's look at them in our mind's eye. Let's think of those swarming masses, whether smartly dressed in all their finery, or in rags. Exclude nobody.
Do you recognize their complete barbarity? Not the brave, bold, picturesque, happy barbarity of the young, but a sinister, sullen, churlish, ugly savagery which will kill everything and create nothing. You will at least be amazed by their mass - for their mass is indeed enormous! Look with wonder at its neat arrangement into three parts:
At their head, the motley tribe of fools. They lead in everything, carrying the keys, opening the doors, inventing phrases, wailing when they are wrong and assuring you that they would never have believed that this or that could happen.
- Disney Land Can Wait
Someday I'll take you to Disneyland
Someday I'll take you to Disneyland
We'll go on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and follow him straight to hell
But that's not necessary just now
For now hell's all around us
Now rubber devils, no smell of sulphur
But hell nonetheless
- I'd Rather Be Your Enemy
Love's a game
And it's a shame
But sometimes you don't win
But don't you do
What other's do
When I see you again
'Cause I'd rather be your enemy
- People
Do you ever think about
what a lovely place the world would be
without all the people
that make life so unpleasant?
All the small, petty people
All the ugly, annoying people
It's hard not to think about it
- Preserve Thy Lonliness
There is a way that seemeth right unto man
But the end thereof is death
There is another way
Preserve thy loneliness from all men; remain undisturbed by all except the impression, free thyself from anything that could be foreign to thy being, and direct thy conscience towards the solitary view by which thou bearest a beast in thine soul as an object from which thine eyes never wander. Complete isolation of soul brooks no imitation of creatures, no self-humiliation, nor self-elevation, and strives to be neither below or above, wanting only to rest in itself, reaching neither towards love nor towards suffering. It does not consider it's equality, or inequality, with other beings. It wants neither to be the one, nor the other. It wants only to be at one with itself.
Preserver thy loneliness from all men.
- Tripped A Beauteous Maiden
Down a winding pathway
In a garden old
Tripped a beauteous maiden
But her heart was cold
Came a prince to woo her
Said he loved her true
Maiden said he didn't
So he ceased to woo
- Untitled
"If all this rise of the Columbine shooting being interviewed immediately after the event."
"Screaming, their kids, running around, they didn't know what they were doing." (echoes, laughter)
"Backwards, he says. Boyd Rice is the one who did it. Now I've heard the secret news."
- Watery Leviathan
At the sunrise
And at noontime
At the setting of the sun
Here's the health to you
And wealth to you
Honours and gifts a thousand strong
Here's a name to you
And fame to you
