2 утаил из цены, с ведома и жены своей, а некоторую часть принес и положил к ногам Апостолов.
3 Но Петр сказал: Анания! Для чего ты допустил сатане вложить в сердце твое мысль солгать Духу Святому и утаить из цены земли?
4 Чем ты владел, не твое ли было, и приобретенное продажею не в твоей ли власти находилось? Для чего ты положил это в сердце твоем? Ты солгал не человекам, а Богу.
5 Услышав сии слова, Анания пал бездыханен; и великий страх объял всех, слышавших это.
6 И встав, юноши приготовили его к погребению и, вынеся, похоронили.
7 Часа через три после сего пришла и жена его, не зная о случившемся.
8 Петр же спросил ее: скажи мне, за столько ли продали вы землю? Она сказала: да, за столько.
9 Но Петр сказал ей: что это согласились вы искусить Духа Господня? вот, входят в двери погребавшие мужа твоего; и тебя вынесут.
10 Вдруг она упала у ног его и испустила дух. И юноши, войдя, нашли ее мертвою и, вынеся, похоронили подле мужа ее.
11 И великий страх объял всю церковь и всех слышавших это.
12 Руками же Апостолов совершались в народе многие знамения и чудеса; и все единодушно пребывали в притворе Соломоновом.
13 Из посторонних же никто не смел пристать к ним, а народ прославлял их.
14 Верующих же более и более присоединялось к Господу, множество мужчин и женщин,
15 так что выносили больных на улицы и полагали на постелях и кроватях, дабы хотя тень проходящего Петра осенила кого из них.
16 Сходились также в Иерусалим многие из окрестных городов, неся больных и нечистыми духами одержимых, которые и исцелялись все.
17 Первосвященник же и с ним все, принадлежавшие к ереси саддукейской, исполнились зависти,
18 и наложили руки свои на Апостолов, и заключили их в народную темницу.
19 Но Ангел Господень ночью отворил двери темницы и, выведя их, сказал:
20 идите и, став в храме, говорите народу все сии слова жизни.
21 Они, выслушав, вошли утром в храм и учили. Между тем первосвященник и которые с ним, придя, созвали синедрион и всех старейшин из сынов Израилевых и послали в темницу привести Апостолов.
22 Но служители, придя, не нашли их в темнице и, возвратившись, донесли,
23 говоря: темницу мы нашли запертою со всею предосторожностью и стражей стоящими перед дверями; но, отворив, не нашли в ней никого.
24 Когда услышали эти слова первосвященник, начальник стражи и прочие первосвященники, недоумевали, что бы это значило.
25 Пришел же некто и донес им, говоря: вот, мужи, которых вы заключили в темницу, стоят в храме и учат народ.
26 Тогда начальник стражи пошел со служителями и привел их без принуждения, потому что боялись народа, чтобы не побили их камнями.
27 Приведя же их, поставили в синедрионе; и спросил их первосвященник, говоря:
28 не запретили ли мы вам накрепко учить о имени сем? и вот, вы наполнили Иерусалим учением вашим и хотите навести на нас кровь Того Человека.
29 Петр же и Апостолы в ответ сказали: должно повиноваться больше Богу, нежели человекам.
30 Бог отцов наших воскресил Иисуса, Которого вы умертвили, повесив на древе.
31 Его возвысил Бог десницею Своею в Начальника и Спасителя, дабы дать Израилю покаяние и прощение грехов.
32 Свидетели Ему в сем мы и Дух Святый, Которого Бог дал повинующимся Ему.
33 Слышав это, они разрывались от гнева и умышляли умертвить их.
34 Встав же в синедрионе, некто фарисей, именем Гамалиил, законоучитель, уважаемый всем народом, приказал вывести Апостолов на короткое время,
35 а им сказал: мужи Израильские! подумайте сами с собою о людях сих, что вам с ними делать.
36 Ибо незадолго перед сим явился Февда, выдавая себя за кого-то великого, и к нему пристало около четырехсот человек; но он был убит, и все, которые слушались его, рассеялись и исчезли.
37 После него во время переписи явился Иуда Галилеянин и увлек за собою довольно народа; но он погиб, и все, которые слушались его, рассыпались.
38 И ныне, говорю вам, отстаньте от людей сих и оставьте их; ибо если это предприятие и это дело - от человеков, то оно разрушится,
39 а если от Бога, то вы не можете разрушить его; берегитесь, чтобы вам не оказаться и богопротивниками.
40 Они послушались его; и, призвав Апостолов, били их и, запретив им говорить о имени Иисуса, отпустили их.
41 Они же пошли из синедриона, радуясь, что за имя Господа Иисуса удостоились принять бесчестие.
42 И всякий день в храме и по домам не переставали учить и благовествовать об Иисусе Христе. 1 And some husband, by the name of Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, having sold the estate,
2 I withheld from the price, with the knowledge of my wife, and brought some of it and put it at the feet of the Apostles.
3 But Peter said: Ananias! Why did you allow Satan to put your thought into the heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and withhold from the price of land?
4 What did you own, wasn’t yours, and were you not in your power? Why did you put this in your heart? You lied not to humans, but to God.
5 Hearing these words, Ananias fell lifeless; and great fear seized everyone who heard this.
6 And the young men got up and prepared him for burial, and having carried it out, they buried him.
7 Hours three after this his wife came, not knowing what had happened.
8 Peter asked her: tell me, how much have you sold the land for? She said: yes, for so much.
9 But Peter said to her: What did you agree to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the men who buried your husband come in the door; and they will take you out.
10 Suddenly she fell at his feet and gave up her spirit. And the young men, entering, found her dead, and having carried them out, they buried her beside her husband.
11 And great fear seized the whole church and all who heard it.
12 By the hands of the Apostles many signs and wonders were performed among the people; and all were unanimously in the porch of Solomon.
13 Of the outsiders, no one dared to adhere to them, and the people glorified them.
14 Believers, more and more joined the Lord, many men and women,
15 so that they took the sick to the streets and put them on the beds and beds, so that although the shadow of the passing Peter overshadowed one of them.
16 Many of the surrounding cities also came to Jerusalem, carrying the sick and the unclean spirits of the possessed, who were all healed.
17 And the high priest, and with him all who belonged to the heresy of the Sadducees, were filled with envy,
18 And they laid their hands on the Apostles, and imprisoned them.
19 But at night the angel of the Lord opened the doors of the dungeon and, taking them out, said:
20 Go and, having stood in the temple, speak to the people all these words of life.
21 And when they heard this, they entered the temple in the morning and taught. Meanwhile, the high priest and who, having come, called the Sanhedrin and all the elders from the sons of Israel and sent to the prison to bring the Apostles.
22 But the servants, having come, did not find them in the dungeon, and, having returned, reported,
23 saying: we found the prison closed with all precaution and guards standing in front of the doors; but, having opened, they did not find anyone in it.
24 When the high priest, the chief of the guard, and the other high priests heard these words, they wondered what this meant.
25 And a certain man came and told them, saying: Behold, the men whom you have put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.
26 Then the chief of the guard went with the ministers and brought them without compulsion, because they were afraid of the people, so that they would not stone them.
27 And having brought them, they set them in the council; and their high priest asked, saying:
28 have we not been forbidden to teach you this name? and behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and want to bring the blood of that man upon us.
29 Peter and the Apostles answered: they should obey God more than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed by hanging on a tree.
31 God exalted him with his right hand in the Head and Savior, in order to give Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins.
32 Witnesses to Him in this and the Holy Spirit, whom God gave to those who obey Him.
33 Hearing this, they were bursting with anger and intended to kill them.
34 But having risen in the Sanhedrin, a certain Pharisee, named Gamaliel, the law teacher, respected by all the people, ordered the Apostles to be taken out for a short time,
35 But he said unto them, Men of Israel! think with yourself about these people what you should do with them.
36 For, shortly before this, Feuda appeared, posing as someone great, and about four hundred people joined him; but he was killed, and all who obeyed him scattered and disappeared.
37 After him, during the census, Judah of Galilee appeared and carried along quite a few people; but he died, and all who obeyed him scattered.
38 And now, I tell you, leave behind these people and leave them; for if this enterprise and this business is from people, then it will collapse,
39 But if from God, then you cannot destroy him; be careful that you do not end up as god-opponents.
40 They obeyed him; and calling the Apostles, they beat them, and forbidding them to speak of the name of Jesus, they released them.
41 But they departed from the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were honored to accept dishonor for the name of the Lord Jesus.
42 And every day in the temple and in houses they did not cease to teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
