The sweat and hot taste of vomit
that you can't ditch.
And a feeling of hate
or disgust, or filth.
The spirit dies, hope
replaced with a sense of loss.

Humans crawl like animals,
twisting backward into flesh circles,
consuming themselves: the wound of nature.
The spiral winds tighter and I am lost
In amber—the panther,
the tensed muscles of the cat
behind the bars of an iron cage.
In those eyes, a spark of nature
